A delightful and comforting dish featuring grilled portobello mushrooms layered with marinara sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4 large portobello mushrooms
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked pasta (for serving)
  • Fresh basil (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Clean the portobello mushrooms and remove the stems. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Grill the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes on each side until tender.
  4. Layer the grilled mushrooms with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese in a baking dish. Sprinkle generously with Parmesan.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve over pasta or alongside a salad. Garnish with fresh basil.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain texture.
