Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Whisk together the milk, melted butter, and eggs until smooth. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  4. Fold in the diced apples and vanilla extract, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar on top. Add the remaining batter and finish with a sprinkle of the remaining brown sugar.
  6. Using a knife, swirl through the batter gently to create a marble effect.
  7. Bake for about 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth and drizzle it over the cooled bread before serving.
