A delightful twist on a classic gooey butter cake, featuring sweet apples and warm cinnamon flavors.

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until well blended.
  3. Press the cake mixture into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  4. Beat the softened cream cheese until creamy and smooth.
  5. Add the powdered sugar, 2 eggs, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese and blend until thick.
  6. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the pressed cake base.
  7. Top with the diced apples and sprinkle cinnamon on top.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and set.
  9. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, best with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
