Delicious and fudgy Banana Bread Brownies that combine the flavors of banana bread and brownies into one delightful treat.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a brownie pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth with a few small lumps.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  4. Add in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract; stir until combined.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, and stir to combine.
  6. Gently add the flour and fold it in until just mixed.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared brownie pan and spread it evenly.
  9. Slide the pan into the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use very ripe bananas. These brownies can be frozen for up to three months.
