Tender, juicy BBQ pulled pork perfect for gatherings and potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 34 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Buns for serving
  • Coleslaw (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Place the seasoned pork in a slow cooker along with chopped onion, minced garlic, and apple cider vinegar.
  3. Pour the BBQ sauce generously over the pork.
  4. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender.
  5. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
  6. Toss the shredded pork with additional BBQ sauce as desired.
  7. Serve the pulled pork on soft, warm buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the pork shoulder marinate overnight with the spices before cooking.
