A hearty beef and mushroom pie wrapped in a flaky crust, perfect for family gatherings or cozy evenings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, cubed
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté the onions and garlic until softened.
  3. Brown the beef on all sides.
  4. Mix in the mushrooms, flour, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer the filling with beef broth until thickened.
  6. Prepare the pie crust in a pie dish.
  7. Fill the pie with the beef and mushroom filling.
  8. Cover with another pie crust and seal the edges.
  9. Apply the egg wash to the top crust.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, let the filling cool before assembling the pie. Leftovers can be reheated in the oven to maintain crust texture.
