Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them onto a baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for about 20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  6. Sprinkle the flour over the sautéed onions and stir for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Whisk in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, cooking until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  8. In a pot of salted boiling water, add the cubed potatoes and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  9. Drain the potatoes, then return them to the pot; add milk and butter, mashing until smooth and creamy.
  10. Serve the meatballs over the mashed potatoes and drizzle with gravy.

Notes

For extra creaminess, you can add a splash of heavy cream to the mashed potatoes or sauté mushrooms in the gravy for added flavor.
