Deliciously chewy cookies that combine the flavors of banana bread with gooey chocolate chips.

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate the mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just mixed.
  6. Add the chocolate chips and fold them into the dough.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for maximum flavor and moisture. Experiment with different types of chocolate chips.
