Delicious and hearty black bean burgers, perfect for plant-based meals that everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup corn
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (or flax egg for vegan)
  • Burger buns
  • Toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Mash the black beans in a mixing bowl until mostly smooth.
  2. Stir in the breadcrumbs, onion, corn, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, and egg until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into uniform-sized patties.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Serve the patties on burger buns with your choice of toppings.

Notes

To ensure a crispy exterior, preheat your skillet before cooking the patties. You can also freeze leftover patties for up to 3 months.
