Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 egg (optional, for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold, cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk until just combined.
  5. Fold in the fresh blueberries gently.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  7. Brush the top with a beaten egg if desired.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  9. Cool slightly before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes
