Deliciously simple Brown Sugar Candied Walnuts that transform ordinary walnuts into a sweet treat perfect for snacking or as toppings.

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prep your surface by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Mix in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until well combined.
  4. Create the caramel by cooking the mixture for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
  5. Coat the walnut halves in the caramel sauce, stirring to ensure each piece is covered.
  6. Deepen the flavor by cooking for another 3-4 minutes until the caramel is a deep amber color.
  7. Pour the candied walnuts onto the lined baking sheet and allow to cool until set.
