A flavorful Cajun shrimp pasta with a creamy sauce that’s perfect for a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add the fettuccine pasta, and cook according to the package instructions. Once al dente, drain and set aside.
  2. Season the shrimp: In a bowl, toss the peeled and deveined shrimp with Cajun seasoning until they are well coated.
  3. Sauté the vegetables: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced bell pepper and chopped onion, sautéing until softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute, allowing the garlic to release its aromatic goodness.
  5. Cook the shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet, cooking until they turn pink and opaque, roughly 3-4 minutes.
  6. Create the cream sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until it melts and combines into a luscious sauce.
  7. Combine with pasta: Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet, tossing gently to coat every strand in the creamy sauce.
  8. Season to perfection: Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting according to your preference.
  9. Garnish and serve: Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.

Notes

For extra heat, add a dash of hot sauce. You can substitute the shrimp with chicken or crawfish.
