A creamy, dreamy caramel buttercream frosting perfect for elevating cakes, cookies, or cupcakes to indulgent heights.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional, for salted caramel)

Instructions

  1. Cream the softened butter in a large bowl until smooth and pale, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition to prevent a cloud of powdered sugar.
  3. Stir in the caramel sauce and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add salt for salted caramel frosting and mix until well combined.
  5. Use immediately to frost desserts, or store in the refrigerator until ready to use, softening slightly before serving.

Notes

For a thicker frosting, add more powdered sugar. For variations, try adding espresso powder or orange extract.
