Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream

  2. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add the chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté until soft.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until caramelized. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Combine the mushroom mixture with heavy cream and half of the gruyère cheese in a bowl.
  5. Transfer the creamy mixture to a baking dish, spread evenly, and sprinkle with breadcrumbs and the remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with freshly chopped herbs before serving.

Notes

For crispiness, consider broiling for a few minutes at the end. Feel free to mix different types of mushrooms or substitute the cheese.
