A nostalgic cherry dump cake recipe that combines cherry filling with a buttery cake mix for a simple yet delicious dessert.

  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the cherry pie filling in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cherry filling.
  4. Melt the unsalted butter and pour it generously over the cake mix.
  5. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
