Authentic Chicken Gyros with seasoned chicken, creamy tzatziki, and warm pita, perfect for a flavorful meal any night.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Toss in the sliced chicken, ensuring each piece is well-coated, and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat, and once it’s hot, add the marinated chicken. Cook until fully browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Prepare the tzatziki sauce: In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, minced garlic, and crumbled feta. Mix well, and season with salt.
  4. Warm the pita breads by placing them in a dry skillet or in the microwave.
  5. Assemble the gyros: Place a generous amount of cooked chicken into the warmed pita, spoon over tzatziki sauce, and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  6. Enjoy your Chicken Gyros!

Notes

Great served with a fresh Greek salad or roasted vegetables. Store leftovers separately in airtight containers in the fridge.
