A comforting one-pot dish combining orzo, chicken sausage, and broccoli, finished with creamy Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups orzo pasta
  • 1 lb chicken sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large pot. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sliced chicken sausage. Cook until the sausage is beautifully browned.
  3. Stir in the orzo, then pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10-12 minutes until the orzo is tender and al dente.
  5. Add the broccoli florets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and stir gently.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
