A flavorful and aromatic Chicken Tikka Masala recipe that combines marinated chicken and a rich, creamy sauce.

  • 500g chicken breast, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, and salt for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  2. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  3. Spread the marinated chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Heat oil over medium heat in a large pan and add the onion; cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, garam masala, and paprika; cook for another minute.
  6. Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Add cream and the cooked chicken to the sauce; simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
  8. Adjust seasoning with salt and taste for perfection.
  9. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
  10. Serve with rice or naan.

Notes

Marinating overnight is key for deep flavor. You can adjust the spices according to your preference.
