A warm and aromatic chicken tikka masala, rich in flavors and perfect for any dinner gathering.

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken breast, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
  • 200ml cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish
  • Rice or naan for serving

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Start by marinating the chicken with your favorite spices and a generous helping of yogurt for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat the Oil: In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. Sauté Onions: Add the finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté until golden brown (5-7 minutes).
  4. Add Garlic and Ginger: Toss in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
  5. Brown the Marinated Chicken: Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until browned on all sides (about 5-7 minutes).
  6. Stir in Diced Tomatoes: Pour in the diced tomatoes, stirring to combine. Let simmer for about 15 minutes.
  7. Add Cream: Stir in the cream and allow it to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Season and Garnish: Season the dish with salt to taste and garnish with freshly chopped coriander.
  9. Serve and Enjoy: Serve with fluffy rice or warm naan to soak up the sauce!

Notes

For juicier chicken, marinate overnight. Customize with veggies or adjust spices to taste.
