  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Mix the mayonnaise, sugar, and eggs in a large bowl until well combined.
  3. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the hot water and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake before serving.
