Elegant Chocolate Mascarpone Dome Dessert

A stunning dessert featuring rich chocolate and creamy mascarpone, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 200g chocolate cookies (for the base)
  • 100g unsalted butter (melted)
  • 250g mascarpone cheese
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 100g powdered sugar
  • 200g dark chocolate (for the mousse and glaze)
  • 2 tbsp gelatin (dissolved in warm water)
  • 1/4 cup water (for glaze)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Crush the chocolate cookies and mix them with melted butter until well combined. Press this mixture firmly into the base of a dome-shaped mold and chill in the refrigerator until set.
  2. Whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form.
  3. Melt the dark chocolate using a microwave or double boiler. Fold it into the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  4. Combine the whipped cream into the chocolate mascarpone mixture, folding gently until well combined.
  5. Add the dissolved gelatin to the mixture and stir well. Pour over the chilled cookie base and smooth the top. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
  6. Prepare the glaze by combining water and sugar in a saucepan and heating until boiling. Remove from heat, add the melted dark chocolate, and let it cool slightly.
  7. Glaze the dome by carefully pouring the glaze over it to cover completely.
  8. Chill until ready to serve. Un-mold the dessert and serve on a platter.

Notes

Pairs well with fresh berries or whipped cream. Can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
