Delicious handheld treats that blend the classic flavors of Tiramisu with fluffy chocolate cupcakes and creamy mascarpone frosting.

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy—about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract and cooled brewed coffee until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes.
  7. While the cupcakes cool, beat together mascarpone cheese and heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  8. Pipe or spread the mascarpone frosting generously on top of the completely cooled cupcakes.
  9. Dust with cocoa powder for a finishing touch.
