Delightful churros sticks that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, coated in cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup sugar with 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for cinnamon sugar)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Base: In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Create the Dough: Remove from heat, and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Cool and Combine: Allow to cool slightly. Then incorporate eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large, deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Pipe the Churros: Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Drain the Excess: Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Roll in Sweetness: Roll warm churros in cinnamon sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve with melted chocolate or dulce de leche for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days and reheat in the oven.
