A modern twist on classic French toast, these bite-sized morsels are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making them perfect for brunch or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread (preferably brioche or challah)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Butter for frying
  • Maple syrup for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the bread into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Whisk the egg mixture in a large bowl.
  3. Soak each cube of bread in the egg mixture.
  4. Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Fry the soaked bread pieces until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup if desired.

Notes

For a unique twist, add chocolate chips or diced apples to the egg mixture. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
