A warm and comforting dessert featuring tender apples topped with a crumbly oat and brown sugar mixture.

  • 6 cups sliced apples
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking your delicious crisp.
  2. Combine sliced apples, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl. Mix well until the apples are coated.
  3. Pour the apple mixture evenly into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Mix the remaining brown sugar, rolled oats, all-purpose flour, and salt in another bowl until combined.
  5. Pour in the melted butter and mix until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
  7. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream on top.

Notes

For best flavor, mix sweet and tart apples. Serve warm or at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
