A delightful twist on a classic dessert, these donuts combine the flavors of peach cobbler and creamy cheesecake.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup diced peaches (fresh or canned)
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients: In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  2. Whisk the wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients: Gently mix them without overmixing; then fold in the diced peaches and cream cheese.
  4. Heat the oil: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the donuts: Drop the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides.
  6. Drain and cool: Remove the donuts from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
  7. Dust and serve: Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh out of the fryer. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
