A delightful and moist chocolate cake made with Coca-Cola, topped with a rich frosting.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Coca-Cola
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for frosting)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup Coca-Cola (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the Coca-Cola, buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
  6. While the cake is baking, melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan. Stir in the cocoa powder and Coca-Cola, then whisk in the powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Once the cake is baked, pour the warm glaze over it.
  8. Allow the cake to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgent touch and enjoy with coffee or iced tea.
