A delightful summer treat of fresh grapes drenched in a light syrup, perfect for picnics and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Grapes (preferably green or red varieties)
  • Sugar
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Clean the grapes. Wash the grapes thoroughly and remove any stems. Let them dry a bit on a clean towel, ready to soak up that beautiful syrup.
  2. Make the syrup. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water, and bring to a boil. Stir occasionally until the sugar has dissolved completely and the mixture looks glossy.
  3. Cool the syrup. Once boiled, let the syrup cool slightly before drizzling over the grapes. This is crucial to ensure you don’t cook them!
  4. Toss the grapes. Gently toss the grapes in the cooled syrup, making sure each one gets a lovely coat. They should glisten like little jewels.
  5. Chill before serving. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to enhance flavors.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Grapes may get a bit soggier over time, but will still be delightful.
