  • 3/4 cup finely chopped celery

  • 3/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, allowing it to bubble away gently.
  2. Add finely chopped celery and cook for 5–7 minutes until soft.
  3. Stir in all-purpose flour, cooking for an additional minute while stirring constantly.
  4. Whisk in chicken or vegetable broth and milk until the mixture is smooth and thickened, about 3–5 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve immediately or let cool for storage.

Notes
