A warm and comforting creamy pasta dish featuring chicken sausage and orzo, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 chicken sausages, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup spinach, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Toss in the sliced chicken sausages and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the orzo pasta and chicken broth. Bring to a boil.
  5. Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the heavy cream and chopped spinach. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, topped with Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days in the fridge.
