A rich and indulgent dish featuring succulent chicken in a creamy Parmesan sauce served over orzo pasta, perfect for a comforting meal.

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Season and sear the chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook for 6-7 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
  3. Set the chicken aside: Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté the garlic: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Simmer with cream: Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  6. Melt the Parmesan: Add the Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  7. Cook the orzo: Meanwhile, cook the orzo according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  8. Slice the chicken: Cut the chicken into slices and return to the skillet with the sauce.
  9. Combine with orzo: Add the cooked orzo, toss to coat, and heat through.
  10. Garnish and serve! Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with a crisp green salad or roasted vegetables. Can be made ahead of time by preparing the sauce and chicken separately.
