A crispy chicken sandwich with a dreamy homemade aioli that brings nostalgia and flavor to your meal.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 sandwich rolls
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Mix together breadcrumbs, dill, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Remove the chicken from buttermilk and coat each piece thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl to make the aioli.
  7. Assemble the sandwich with crispy chicken, lettuce, tomato slices, and aioli on the sandwich roll.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh dill.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. You can also swap dill for other herbs or use store-bought aioli.
