4 green tomatoes, sliced
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup cornmeal
Salt and pepper to taste
4 slices of bacon
4 slices of bread
Lettuce leaves
Mayonnaise
Cooking oil for frying
Instructions
Start by seasoning the flour with salt and pepper in a shallow dish.
Dredge each slice of green tomato in the seasoned flour, then dip in the beaten eggs before coating with cornmeal.
Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, then carefully slide in the coated tomato slices and fry until golden brown.
Add the bacon to the same skillet and cook until crispy.
Spread mayonnaise on toasted slices of bread, then layer with lettuce, crispy bacon, and fried green tomatoes before topping with another slice of bread.
Notes
