A quick and healthy sautéed broccoli recipe that transforms the green vegetable into a flavorful side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds (2 large heads) broccoli
  • 2 green onions
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Chop the broccoli into medium-sized florets, keeping part of the stem.
  2. Slice the green onions thinly.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Sauté the broccoli florets for about 5 minutes until lightly browned.
  5. Add the sliced green onions, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and kosher salt. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Adjust seasoning with extra salt and fresh pepper, serve immediately garnished with lemon zest.

Notes

For extra texture, you can roast broccoli at 400°F for about 20 minutes. Feel free to add red pepper flakes for heat or swap in fresh herbs seasonally.
