Delightful thumbprint cookies filled with your favorite fruit jams, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fruit jam (any flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add in the vanilla extract and mix well until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
  5. Scoop out a small amount of dough and roll it into 1-inch balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Using your thumb, gently press into the center of each dough ball to create an indentation.
  7. Fill each indentation with your choice of fruit jam.
  8. Bake the cookies in your preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are lightly golden around the edges.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to one week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
