A quick and flavorful vodka pasta sauce that comes together in just 20 minutes, perfect for weeknight dinners.

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish
  • Pasta of choice

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and vodka, stirring to combine, and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream until creamy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cook your pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  8. Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce, ensuring noodles are coated, and serve hot garnished with fresh basil.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, skip the vodka. This sauce pairs well with a green salad and garlic bread.
