A quick, satisfying beef meat pie with a flaky crust and hearty filling, inspired by nostalgic family recipes.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and drain excess fat.
  3. Add in the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; cook for about 5 minutes.
  5. Roll out the first pie crust into your pie dish.
  6. Pour the beef mixture into the pie crust evenly.
  7. Cover with the second pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits on top for steam to escape.
  8. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
