A rich and gooey caramel dessert with a buttery base, topped with salted caramel, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it’s beautifully bubbling and golden.
  3. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, and heavy cream to the melted butter, stirring until well combined; let simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt, allowing the mixture to cool slightly.
  5. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Gently combine the dry ingredients with the cooled caramel mixture until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing it out evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before drizzling with extra salted caramel before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator.
