Delicious bite-sized churro treats made healthier with whole wheat and almond flour, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth guilt-free.

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl: whole wheat flour, almond flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Whisk wet ingredients in another bowl: unsweetened applesauce, almond milk, and melted coconut oil until smooth.
  4. Mix the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  5. Shape the dough into bite-sized balls.
  6. Prepare the air fryer basket by lightly coating it with cooking spray.
  7. Air fry the churro bites for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown, shaking the basket halfway through.
  8. Cool the churro bites slightly after removing them from the air fryer.
  9. Toss with cinnamon sugar if desired.

Notes

Serve with warm chocolate sauce for dipping or a scoop of ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days or in the fridge for a week.
