A simple and delicious recipe for homemade blueberry jam that captures the essence of summer in every jar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir everything gently to coat the blueberries in the sugar and lemon.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture starts to boil. Watch as the blueberries begin to burst and release their juices, creating an aromatic syrup.
  3. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently. The jam will thicken as it cooks – remember to keep an eye on it to reach your desired consistency.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool before transferring to sterilized jars. Don’t forget to leave some space at the top of the jars, as the jam may expand slightly when it cools.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or fresh mint sprigs while simmering. If the jam doesn’t thicken, return it to heat and simmer longer.
