Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 large egg
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather your dry ingredients in a large bowl, combining the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients in a separate bowl with the warm water, melted butter, and egg.
  3. Combine the wet and dry mixtures, mixing until a dough begins to form.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl, covered with a towel, for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Shape the buns by dividing the risen dough into 8-10 equal pieces.
  7. Prepare for the final rise by placing shaped dough on parchment-lined baking sheets, flattening slightly, and covering them for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) during the final rise.
  9. Dress the buns by brushing with water or egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.
  10. Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  11. Cool the buns for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes
