A comforting and hearty homemade lasagna packed with layers of seasoned beef, creamy ricotta, and melted mozzarella, all wrapped in savory marinara sauce.

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Create a layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer 3 noodles on top of the sauce, then half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the cooked meat, a third of the marinara sauce, and a third of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat the layering process, finishing with a final layer of noodles topped with the remaining sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Add grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Bake covered with foil for 25 minutes.
  10. Bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Let the lasagna rest after baking for clean slices. Feel free to customize with different meats or vegetables.
