Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup hot honey
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, which should take about 5 minutes.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, around 7-8 minutes.
  4. Stir in the ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to incorporate the spices into the meat.
  5. Add the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce, stirring well to combine everything.
  6. Pour in the hot honey and mix it in, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly, which should take approximately 3 minutes.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes, ensuring the beef is fully cooked through and the flavors are well infused.
  8. To assemble, place a serving of cooked rice at the bottom of your bowl. Top it with the hot honey ground beef mixture.
  9. Add a handful of halved cherry tomatoes and slices of creamy avocado. Finish with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.
  10. Serve with lime wedges on the side for that fresh citrus burst and extra flavor.

Notes

Use lean ground beef or substitute with ground turkey or plant-based alternatives. Adjust hot honey according to your heat preference.
