Enjoy the nostalgic taste of crispy hash browns that are golden on the outside and tender on the inside.

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: onion or garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Peel the russet potatoes, revealing their starchy goodness. Rinse under cold water to wash away excess starch.
  2. Pat the grated potatoes dry using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the grated potatoes in an even layer to the hot oil.
  5. Cook undisturbed for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown on the bottom.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  7. Flip the potatoes in sections to cook the other side for another 5-7 minutes until crispy.
  8. Serve hot right off the skillet and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding cheese or diced bell peppers towards the end of cooking.
