A delightful apple bread filled with warm spices and sweet chunks of apple, perfect for any time of the day.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chopped apples and walnuts if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to three days or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze individual slices for about three months.
