  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and melted butter until well combined.
  3. Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
  4. Mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow the donut bars to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Cut into bars and serve while warm.
