Delightful stacks of salty ham and melty cheese enveloped in golden, flaky pastry—perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 8 slices of ham
  • 8 slices of cheese (e.g., Swiss or cheddar)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional: mustard for spread
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Assemble a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on half of the rectangles.
  4. Spread a thin layer of mustard on top of the ham and cheese (optional).
  5. Top with another rectangle of puff pastry and press the edges to seal.
  6. Beat the egg and brush the tops of the stacks with the egg wash.
  7. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Serve warm as a snack.

Notes

These stacks are best enjoyed fresh, but if you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
