Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.
  2. Drain Excess Fat: Carefully drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Mix the Flavorful Ingredients: Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Cook Until Combined: Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on medium heat to thicken the sauce.
  5. Prepare the Rice and Broccoli: Steam the broccoli until bright green and tender, about 4-5 minutes, and heat the rice.
  6. Serve the Bowls: Place cooked rice in each bowl, spoon the beef mixture on top, layer with broccoli, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a lower-fat option, opt for lean ground beef. Adjust spice levels as needed.
