A nostalgic Korean dish combining savory ground beef with sweet brown sugar and fragrant garlic over rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce and sprinkle the brown sugar over the beef mixture, stirring until well combined for 2 minutes.
  5. Serve the beef mixture over warm, fluffy cooked rice.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with a touch of water.
