A simple yet flavorful baked cod recipe infused with lemon and smoked paprika, perfect for family dinners or impressing guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds Cod fillets
  • 3/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • Fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • Zest of one lemon
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons Minced shallot
  • 2 tablespoons Minced garlic (about 4 cloves)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Pat the cod fillets dry with a paper towel.
  3. Generously season the cod with kosher salt and black pepper.
  4. Combine lemon juice, lemon zest, olive oil, oregano, shallot, and garlic in a bowl.
  5. Brush a baking dish with olive oil.
  6. Place the seasoned cod fillets in the prepared baking dish.
  7. Apply the lemon mixture generously over the cod.
  8. Sprinkle the smoked paprika on top.
  9. Bake for 17 to 20 minutes, until fish flakes easily.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat gently.
